Jan 02, 2010 Ok, I was uploading songs into iTunes and my mac has already been getting startup disk almost full messages for a while. I try my best to clear up space on my hard drive, but now my mac started to freeze and a force quit menu popped up saying 'Your mac OS X startup disk has no more space. I know this is thread is old, but I was experiencing the same problem on my Macbook Pro on El Capitan. Using OmniDiskSweeper was awesome but I found the high quality transcoded media files from Final Cut Pro X were massive, so I did a huge project clean up and it gave me an extra 200gb of free space.
Try booting into Safe mode, by holding the “Shift” key during boot.

Finally, start an Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal session. Enter
rm
Enter a space after the rm
Apple pc cena. Drag & Drop a file you want to delete from the Finder on to the Terminal window.

That should delete that file. It will be deleted immediately! So make sure you want it to go away.
